Kirm Studios is a container for the material practice of artist Kira McCutcheon — a place to experiment with wool, colour, and the process of making.

Each piece is made by hand using wool and natural dyes. We work with Ontario and Canadian wool wherever possible, alongside some Merino.

The dyeing and felting process becomes a negotiation between intention and material. Disparate fibres are brought together through time, agitation, and heat, transforming loose material into something cohesive. Through this process, I continually negotiate my intentions with the agency of the material, an echo of the ongoing work of forming a life.
